Cheerfully sparkling, red white and green,
Hung high on roof tops where they can be seen.
Reveling in a bright festive light show,
Inviting and warm, they make our hearts glow.
Sometimes they will dance, much to our delight,
Truly it is a most wonderous sight.
Merry they make us, with Christmas so near,
A time to gather with loved ones so dear.
Soon, red and white lights will grace our tree here.
Lovingly placed are the mantle's gold lights,
Iridescent they glow, throughout the long nights.
Giving us joy and the hope that we need,
Hearts that are heavy will lighten indeed.
Twinkling like the stars up in the sky,
Soothing they are as they lift spirits high.
