A Trinet for the contest

Home Again

by June Sargent

Trinet Poetry Contest Winner
Sapphire skies
Seagulls' cries
Children playing on a summer day
Happy and joyful in every way
Sweet innocence
Lacks permanence
Seeks relevance

With time
Clocks chime
Children grown will leave the nest
Giving the world a taste test
Some sweetness
Some sourness
Never bitterness

Respect earned
They returned
Each year for special family gathering
Silence now replaced with cheerful chattering
Happy voices
Right choices
Heart rejoices

Trinet Poetry
Contest Winner

As parents, we may be reluctant to let our children go, but we need to be the wind beneath their wings - eventually they will find their way back home again.

The Trinet, created by zion, is a form with these specifications:

Line 1 - 2 words
Line 2 - 2 words
Line 3 - 6 words
Line 4 - 6 words
Line 5 - 2 words
Line 6 - 2 words
Line 7 - 2 words

Repeat this pattern 2 more times, for a total of three stanzas, if centered correctly it looks like three crosses.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
