Softly She Did Sigh

by fm wright

Into this world she came,
though upon entrance did not cry;
acknowledging life not with tears,
but softly she did sigh.

As on life she took aim:
determination did supply.
Greatly admired by her peers;
'cause softly she did sigh.

Next was the dating game,
in which she met a certain guy.
Each and every time he came near
t'was softly she did sigh.

After taking his name,
and in marriage bed they did lie;
to each other became so dear,
that softly she did sigh.

Rising up from this flame,
there was soon a spark in her eye;
for soon a child would appear,
thus softly she did sigh.

When death, her mother claimed,
and the little girl said good-bye:
she did so with eyes dry and clear,
while softly she did sigh.
