100 Word Horror Poem Contest Entry

The Magician

Annette is eight years old today.
Her eyes are crystal blue.
For the kids, my magic act,
with one trick left to do.

Before her friends showed up at noon,
I whispered in her ear.
I told her how the trick would work.
I'd make her disappear.

She vanished from the magic box,
then hid behind my cape.
I sent them all to search for her
and then made my escape.

So now I have her chained and gagged
to muffle what she cries.
   I'll add them to my trophy jar...
her pretty, little eyes.
