The Letter

Shakespearean Sonnet Contest Winner 
   
    Each moment's spent in angst for your return.
    Hold closely to your heart these words I write.
    Please let thy battles be of faint concern
    until the precious day we reunite.

    Keep sight upon the haven home provides,
    for refuge conquers any burdened woe,
    where sanctuary waits and peace abides,
    to heal what wounds you've surely come to know.

    But needed is our strength through snares of war,
    to bond a love that carries promised vows,
    restoring blessed union as before,
    and welcoming the treasures it allows.

    Believe with all your soul these words I pen,
    for soon you'll fall into my arms again.
