Mother takes her daughter for a ride in the stroller.
The Ride
by Tpa
"Mommy, we go bye-bye."
"Okay Patty."
They step outdoors under the warm lazy rays of the summer sun.
She pushes her three-year old daughter in the weather-beaten stroller through the poverty-stricken neighborhood that is inhabited with gangs and drug dealers.
The mother hears that familar sound. She feels the hard pounding in her heart.
Patty screams.
"Come princess, we must get in the house." A cold chill crawls through the mother's spine.
Her child doesn't move.
"Let's go sweetheart." She gives an exasperated sigh.
The mother stoops down. Patty's eyes are closed as drops of blood slide down her cheeks.

A three-year-old doesn't always use correct Enlish as stated in the first sentence. Besides, it is flash fiction.
