Would Dad have been happy instead of just a shell.
I wonder if Ma had lived beyond my seven years,
If my sister would not have run away from home,
I wonder if Ma had lived beyond my seven years,
I would have had a little sister.
I wonder if Ma had lived beyond my seven years,
The fun family pictures would be taken again,
I wonder if Ma had lived beyond my seven years,
I would have had hugs.

Every once in awhile I wonder what our family would have been like if my mother had lived. She died at the age of 36 along with the baby in childbirth.
I do not write poetry but thought I would just put my thoughts in paper and give it a try.
