Changing a life

With Him I'll Overcome

by lancellot

It’s midnight, and I’m wide awake,
ashamed of what I did for love’s sake.
This isn’t right, but I still believe,
one more film and then we’ll leave.
~
Should I go alone or take a stand.
Life’s not going quite as I planned.
Is it my choices or is it my fate,
falling for the wretched men, I date.
~
I give everything, even my pride.
Please, God, fix the wrongness inside.
I don’t know; I can’t figure it out.
No one cares if I scream, and I shout.
~
One rolls over and touches my thigh.
My eyes water, please don’t let me cry.
Oh God, make them all stay asleep.
I wait for it, but I don’t hear a peep.
~
Lord, help me walk out that door.
I’m tired; I can’t do this anymore.
It’s raining outside, but I feel so alive.
Thanks to Him, I know I will survive.
~
My new life starts with this as day one.
I dedicate it to the Father and the Son.
