The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

Punishment of Poetic Appraisal

by LisaMay

Poised to partake, it’s a privilege to patrol these plentiful pages.
I’m touchingly tantalized by tasty treats of tingling, tender splendour,
seduced by soppy smatterings of love-smitten, superficial, silly slop
served between rabid rants, ramblings, and radiant ruminations.

Loquacious, lilting lyrics and lewd limericks with rambunctious rhymes
are littered with artful alliteration, arguably admirable or awfully awkward,
so stylishly saturated with a stunning spray of sensationally slick similes.
I wend my way wearily, warily, through woefully wordy, wobbly wailings.

Edifyingly erudite epistles energetically expostulate with earnest integrity;
lesser lamentably illiterate lines languish limply, lost as demented dross.
Perfunctory prose and poetry portrays a pitiful paucity of prudent punctuation.
Perversely, a pedantic proliferation of pauses and periods perplexes.

I flounder through a few florid flourishes of flimsily-fabricated fantasy,
and meander through muddled puddles of mundane mixed metaphors,
while perusing perturbingly prevalent paraphrased pretty platitudes.
Juicy jottings jostle, jammed with jaunty jollity, justifiably enjoyable.

It’s a tricky test, trying to triumphantly tame a tongue-tied tangle
of tragically-troubled, tortuous torment tastefully. Be tenacious.
Letting a lightbulb of light-hearted laughter linger lovingly, I listen,
to unearth neon nuggets of nurtured numinous narration.

Author's Note:
I swallowed a dictionary when I was young. I was hungry to learn words. Then my Dad made me eat a Thesaurus to go with it. If you believe that, you are very gullible.
