Shifting Sands Of Time

by jaybird1

In life, just once we pass this way,
and we were blest, day after day.
Our joys were great and troubles few,
when you had me and I had you.

We built great castles in life's sand,
when love was young and dreams were grand.
We dared to dream, our love was true,
when you had me and I had you.

The waves of time have washed away,
our sand castles of yesterday.
All hopes and dreams will never be,
fate called and came, took you from me.

Please, wondrous powers from above,
send down your guidance and your love.
I'm left alone, with loss of soul,
life's shifting sands have claimed their role.

Lover, wife, mother of my children was taken from me
at a very early age. She is still sorely missed-Jaybird
