A poem containing five book titles

In the Beginning

by Mary Furlong

We had such fun with Dick and Jane
when we were very young
in days of sun and nights of rain
and stars. We were among
the grown-up giants, proudly chanting,
"Run, Spot, run."
(a song flung up to Heaven
to be heard by everyone)
"Now, we are six or seven,
and the world has just begun."
