Candy Kisses

100 Word Dash Contest Winner

Hastings still had the trappings of a Wild West town, and I was a young buck fancy free and looking for fun on a Saturday night. A sign fronting the church read: Charity Fest Tonight!

Inside there were fiddles playing, heels stomping, and lots of laughter. And the prettiest gal I'd ever seen selling candy kisses.

I moseyed over and picked up the whole box.

"I buy all of these, is there any kinda bonus?"

Her eyes sparkled and those red lips smiled.

"Whatcha have in mind, Cowboy?"

I grabbed her arm, kissed those lips.

"Sold . . . and how about another?"
