A Poem about Rhyming

When Words Don't Rhyme

by Mia Twysted

Rhyming doesn't come easily to me
It's a problem that's been lifelong
I guess it's that I'm not carefree

Unless I hit the bong
But even then I find it hard
As if being trampled by King Kong

I have no points on the scorecard
Which leaves me feeling enraged
Then suddenly I'm in the schoolyard

Embarrassed and upstaged
All because I cannot rhyme
which leaves me downright outraged

Maybe I'll switch to organized crime
At least then I'll stand a chance
However in the meantime

I'll practice to enhance
Learning how to use my words
To play rhyming's song and dance
