My dedication to the Screaming Eagles

Grandpa What'd You Do In The War

by Earl Corp

Grandpa, what did you do,

in World War II,

I'll tell you son,

I jumped with the one-o-one,

On D-Day out the door,

Over France we did pour,

In Holland I got hit,

Stayed in the hospital a bit,

I guess I can now divulge,

What happened in the Bulge,

While we were in Bastogne,

We stood all alone,

Face to face with the Hun,

We put them on the run,

Every night I give thanks,

For General Patton and his tanks,

It ceased being funny,

When we crossed into Germany,

Captured Hitler's Eagle's Nest,

Then got a well deserved rest,

I wasn't a hero I knew,

But I served with quite a few.
