Yesterday the telephone rang
And my heart sang
It was my friend from far away
She brightened my day
We shared smiles
Though we couldn't see each other's faces
It was love across the miles

I wrote her when I was under the weather
And the Holy Spirit brought us together
We are of the same age in years
She's comforted my tears

I love to read her poetry
So inspiring spiritually
We have the same gift
Our writing gives both of us a lift
She is an answer to prayer
Someone who will always care
