Nonet poem about desert

Sonoran Desert Nonet

by CrystieCookie999

Tall, sturdy saguaro cactus guards
entrance to dreams of this desert.
Hanging chain cholla cactus,
against high whine of wind,
softens deep darkness,
houses lizards,
holds the soul
of dry

Saguaro cactus is the tallest type of cactus in the Sonoran desert. Hanging chain cholla cactus is another name for cholla cactus, which is 'scrubby' or shorter, like a bush. Thanks to MoonWillow of for a really striking prairie/desert style image illustration.
This is only my second nonet, pr 9-line poem, where it starts with 9 syllables for the first line, then subtracts one syllable for each successive line, ending with one syllable.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
