The bee

is known for its sting

And also

the honey thing

But me

stingless and alone

the male drone

My job

here in the hive

Make sure

the queen comes alive

Impregnate her

with a buzzing brood

So humans

can have their sweetened food

I was a worker bee

Stinger sharp

I’d fly off free

Smelling roses

for pollen collection
