Order Out

by Bill Schott

100 Word Horror Contest Winner

Must escape this horrid ghoul;
my hands are balls of gore and drool;
fingers bitten off and chewed;
only bony stumps protrude.

He's occupied; I crawl the floor;
Is that a phone there by the door?
Inch by inch I slide that way,
and pray a call will save the day.

If he sees I've gotten free,
he'll continue eating me;
my face, my feet -- he is nuts!
Split me open! Eat my guts!

Kicked the table with the phone;
it drops, I hear a dial tone;
then I hear my captor shout,
"There's no need to order out!"
