Full House

by Bill Schott

Kevin received two pair on the deal of five-card draw from Kelly.

"What's the bid, Kevin?" she asked.

"Quarter," he said.

Kelly tossed a quarter in and looked to Kevin. "Cards?"

"I'll take one card."

She flipped him a single card.

Picking up the card, Kevin saw that he now had a full house. He pushed five dollars of stacked change into the center of the table.

Kelly looked at her hand and said, "I'll play these."

Smiling, Kevin laid down his eights and tens. "Full house."

Kelly revealed a full house of face cards.

"Mine's in a better neighborhood."
