World At A Standstill

by dovemarie

Our world is at a standstill
So many empty hours to fill

No work, so we should pray
No school, so we should study our minds and hearts
While making sure our kids are okay

Christ has taken His thorny crown
And set it on our heads
Offices, schools, eateries shut down

No traveling by plane through the sky
So to Jesus' outstretched arms I fly

With shut-ins, sympathize
With unemployed, empathize
See to it that these little ones, you do not despise (Matthew, chap. 8, vs.10)
Do your best to evangelize

Minutes turn to hours, hours into days
As the Heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways from your ways (Isaiah, chap. 55, vs. 9)

Time at a standstill
A pandemic chill
This is the Divine Will

Streets deserted
Waiting for hypocrites to be converted

Timeless days seem like eternity
A disease is now our enemy
Worse than war, hunger or poverty
These times, no one could foresee
As we await entrance into our Heavenly country

Inspired by the pan(ic)demic Corona virus. Corona means "crown," inspiring the verse about the "thorny crown." Everyone please stay safe and well. Love, Dove
