Look for the silver lining.

Gilding the Clouds

by BethShelby

There’s never been a cloud so dense
where there is no silver lining.
Behind the storm clouds, thick and black,
be assured the sun's still shining.

Tomorrow always comes again
whenever the long night has past.
Today’s virus will go away;
since troublesome times seldom last.

Maybe some things will be better.
The future may likely seem strange.
The whole world’s in this together,
and bonding will surely mean change.

China’s dropped carbon emissions.
a detriment to the ozone.
Nations are working together.
It’s better than working alone.

We'll learn from lack of prepairedness,
and next time we'll not be so slack.
Curve balls life throws can be deadly;
we're ready in case this comes back.

We won’t take our lives for granted;
we will cherish health while we can.
We shall care for those who suffer,
reaching out to our fellow man.

Let us search for silver linings,
not focusing on the dark cloud.
Stay safe and keep up our courage,
and lets keep away from a crowd.
