A Garden of Sisters

by Therese Caron

Family Contest Winner
Seven little girls, born in nine years
Caring for each other, drying tears
Riding bikes, reading, climbing trees
A most loving God gave me sisters like these.

Dad has been gone now for 50 years
At first I thought we would drown in our tears
We were just little girls, with a Mom so sad
We clung to each other, we were all we had.

Now we are grown, and still holding tight
Hardly an argument, never a fight
Listening, advising, sharing what we know
When you have sisters like mine, you never let go.
