Hey Mom! About Your Jacket.

by lauralumummu

I feel sad today. I hugged your light green jacket, tightly.

I cried my eyes out. I tried to feel some essence of you.

My sister ( your youngest) asked for it when you died.

We bought it together, you and me when you visited. It was rainproof and matched your eyes.

I wanted it, no I needed it.

Now four years later, I pack it in the box to mail to her.

She will make it into a quilt with some of your other things.

When she opens the box she will cry and hug it just like me.

Sad, she and I are not close. Our perceptions differ, especially of the days just before you passed.

Really, I do, love my little sister.

My Mom was amazing! She traveled to Australia from Canada in her Eighties. She wore that green jacket. I still talk to her some times, I will see her again! picture of Mom at the airport.
