The Woman At The Well

by Diana L Crawford

A dusty road is where He walked;
on a mission He was sent,
to share His words and baptize all
who gave God their full consent.

He journeyed through unwelcomed land;
a Jew, He would be tested.
So tired and thirsty on this day
near Jacob's well He rested.

A woman came to draw water
and our Lord asked for a drink;
she said she was Samaritan,
he a Jew, what did he think?

The woman listened to Him close
as she stood there by the well;
He spoke of living water true
and upon her knees she fell.

Then off she went to tell others
of the loving words He raved,
and many followed her that day
to the place where they were saved.
