a story about belonging

Exile

by Iza Deleanu

My story comes from far away
Rebelling through the future
I got a touch of easy way
Swimming through communism.

I've crossed the ocean to promised land
Becoming an illusion
Nothing went as planned afar
Getting one hell of confusion

Alone and cold at heavens door
Tumbleweeding in desperation
I closed my eyes and dumped the score
Who cares about starvation?

Rejected by the human world
I run to our dear Lord
Trying to find a better way
And wash my abnegation.

Life's illusions one by one
Temptation's of the living
I left behind my human shell
Getting expelled
I found my way to Heaven
