Sparkling Spring

by Raffaelina Lowcock

Spring is here at last,
And so the Winter’s past
I muse while I treasure
My thoughts and take measure...
I live within a jewelled paradise
That cannot be bought, at any price.
The moon is Silver the sun is pure Gold
My air of Velvet around me does fold.
I gaze upon an Emerald green sea
The sunset resembles a red Ruby
I tread upon an Onyx earth
Beneath are mines of treasured worth.
At evening the sky is Sapphire blue
As Diamond stars come peeking through
The earth is the Treasure Chest that holds
These priceless gems, Silver and Gold.
The Diamonds return to greet the dawn
On every blade in my green lawn
The Emeralds travelled from the Sea
Are now above, on every tree.
My eyes will feast for the whole day
In awe at what is on display
Where do you think I’d rather be?
There is no better place for me

But here, in Spring.
