Rainy days always promise a visit from her...

Mel In Choli*

by Y. M. Roger

Again, the gray skies promise rain,
And Mel, she’s come to call –
Dismal Drizzle echoes her strain,
Aiding Mel in her thrall…

She’s clad as always in bright blouse,
Showing her perfection –
Reminds again how I’m a mouse,
Deepens my dejection…

Touching my heart, she simply laughs,
Its torment her delight –
And looking through old photographs?
Mel calls my tears for spite…

The falling rain becomes her hymn,
And, trembling, I respond –
The wistful wash of feelings grim,
Leave me down and withdrawn…

Yes, Mel in Choli’s quite the witch,
And days of gray cap her crown –
But find your sunshine, you’ll be rich…
Never let her drag you down!
