fettered blooms

by judester

Sorrow drifts past in a whiff of doom
flowers droop their fettered blooms.
Dark clouds scatter in her wake,
happiness shivers, joyfulness quakes.

Sorrow sighs as elation fades,
tears like warm spring rain cascade.
I stroke her face, I have to know ~
Will you ever be happy? She whispers, no.
