I Forget What I Forgot!

by dovemarie

I read what I forget.
Then I forget what I read!
I walk down the hall - to perform a certain task...
"What were you planning to do?" my mind will then ask.
So I go back to try and pick up where I left off.
On my way back to my desk, I don't remember what I was doing!
I make a phone call, and can't remember while dialing who I was calling!
I hear the ring on the other end of the line,
A man's voice answers, is it a prospective employer or a friend of mine?
Mind over matter -
I choose the former, and forget the latter!
What did I eat for breakfast today?
Did I put my keys someplace out of the way?
Oh dear, I forgot to remember what I forget
Old age coming around, I'd better get set!
And try to remember what I shouldn't forget.
