March Winds Blow

by dovemarie

Howling from February they blow
Scattering seeds I sow
Like a lion, mankind's greatest foe
Screech over an ice floe
March winds blow

A prelude to April morn's soft breeze
Bringing me to my knees
Birds and squirrels hide from their harsh freeze
Fierce arms wrapped around trees
March winds blow

Leaves and twigs caught up in windy grasp
Vicious chill makes me gasp
Doors and windows shudder with a rasp
And as my hands I clasp,
March winds blow
