A Rondel

Nature's Way

by June Sargent

Rondel Poetry Contest Winner
She wove her silvery strands throughout the night,
determined to complete her work of art.
With blueprint memorized right from the start,
through wind and rain she worked with all her might.

A stunning and most inspiring sight,
unraveling it would have pierced my heart.
She wove her silvery strands throughout the night,
determined to complete her work of art.

To some these webs are ugly and a blight
that simply should be ripped apart.
But spiders enjoy dining a la carte -
it's Nature's way of catching flies in flight.
She wove her silvery strands throughout the night.
