Fly Fishing

by JLR

Casting my line into the current's clutch
My soul relishes the tranquil breeze of the morn.
The crescendo of nearby falls cross boulders worn;
doesn't cause my fly to quake too much.

Fishing line over the eddies flow in my gentle touch
as I watch closely along the bank for a new hatch born.
Casting my line into the current's clutch
My soul relishes the tranquil breeze of the morn.

I will never tire of the relentless pursuit of fishing much
As I gaze over yonder at a fawn chewing buckthorn;
out of the shadows, I see the buck watching over his newborn
while the tug on my line, I swoon over, has my attentive soft touch.
Casting my line into the current's clutch.
