Sparkling

by LisaMay

Sparkling shiny-eyed, we hopped and we skipped, then
sat amidst presents, with the wrapping all stripped, while
slurping sweet strawberries with cream that was whipped.
Stuffed full of goodies – yum! chocolate-dipped, we
sang songs and told stories, a familiar script.
Santa sprawled, snoozing – his suit was unzipped;
snoring serenely, into slumber he’d slipped.
