New Year 2020

Soon, time will bring us the new year
it's near as to the date
If you now hate your ways it's clear
change them, don't reinstate
Watch fireworks in the dark gray sky
At twelve midnight
a pretty sight
bursts of bright light
explode with height
as time this year has now flown by

Inspired by Dolly, this is my first try with the style
The complex rhyming scheme is below. The poem has 10 lines. 8.6.8.6.8.4.4.4.4.8. Written in iambic pentameter.
