The Soul Of A Human Being

by sunnilicious

The soul of a human being
Was born to become expressive.
Some emotions feel natural,
But...
Many times,
They are nurtured;
To grow and deepen,
To enable healthy unions,
Or so we hope.

The soul of a human being
Has always lacked substance,
Because the body hosts a soul,
But together they hold a life,
And that being was born to love
And be loved in return.
This happens when the stars align
To bring matching personalities together;
Mind, body and soul.

The soul of a human being
Resides in a body,
And the mind is a powerful union;
God damned us to think for ourselves,
And become one with another,
In the same way, but different.
To grow and prosper in our lives,
Because we disobeyed God in Eden
And we only have each other
To trust and thrive.

The soul of a human being
Was born to be vulnerable,
Because there is an ego that exists,
And we are easily found as fragile.
The best way to find strength
Is to believe in oneself,
And believe in loving unions;
Pray to God with a humble soul,
And hold faith in yourself before others.

Writing Prompt
In under 150 words, define a "soul." You may write poetry or prose.

I wasn't sure where to go with this. I just wrote... However, I believe it. It's my own personal beliefs mixed together about the soul as it embodies life, love, science and religion. I probably could use an edit.
