What is in the Witches' Brew?

The Witches' Kitchen

by Mimi Linny

THE WITCHES' KITCHEN

Witches' brooms and Warlock stubble
Three old hags spell triple trouble.
Mixing in the cauldron hot
Candy in, but out… it’s not!

Eye of troll and sting of bug,
Lizard scales or tongue of slug,
Gizzards, guts and tail of cat...
Bubble over in the vat.

Thrice repeat this magic spell,
Then twice be rung the witches’ bell,
Then once around in stirring motion,
Salt-to-taste this ghastly potion.

Mushy, sticky, grimy, gooey,
Slimy, icky, even chewy!
Eyeballs, liver, tiger drool,
Crooked fingers, brains or gruel…
Reach your hand in...if you dare...
Tell us what you think you fare…

Fun game for trick-or-treat night! Big pot of ooey, gooey, ickyness... What's in the kettle, kids must guess!
