I Carry My Rainbow

I carry my rainbow under my arm,
then I’ll ride on a crest of delight –
my feet planted firm, 
and holding my balance just right.

I carry your rainbow in my heart,
close to where you reside –
you brighten my day
all the way through, from deep inside.

I carry our rainbow over my head,
arching its back against gloom –
sunshine after rain
will help make our new love bloom.
