Candyland

by judester

Giddy, I skip down Sugar~land lane,
a jelly tot hat and a tootsie~roll cane.
A shawl of pink candy floss flutters and drapes
as I nibble on skiddles, strawberry and grape.

Blossoms of jelly beans hang low and handy,
cobblestone sweets, stepping stones of hard candy.
Houses of gingerbread, in cinnamon sheets,
with smarties for shingles on candy cane streets.

Hot cocoa splashes from dark chocolate fountains,
dripping on sparkles of spun~sugar mountains.
Wandering down a path paved in cake,
I wake in my bed, with a bad belly ache.
