that tarnished ring

by judester

Lying, sighing tears cascade
upon the bed you made.
Never a thought of the cost,
in hollow vows you made.

Wrapped around your finger
that simple band of gold.
Once it shone with love's promise,
now tossed, tarnished and cold.

On one hand, I understand
lost love, for what it's worth.
That tight'ning ring, like broken wings ~
sent you plummeting to earth.

Thanks to avmurray for the artwork. I am not a big believer in marriage, but a vow made should be honored, regardless.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
