Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Teen love, a mix of excitement and disappointment.

Unrequited

by Kazzawin

'Play awhile' he said out walking
Walking as my heart grew large
Large boots on, it starts to rain
Rain so hard we had to charge

Charge across the meadow wide
Wide gap, to where we shelter seek
Seek a spot to huddle close
Close enough to kiss my cheek

'Cheek of it!' I laugh and say
'Say nothing' is his swift return
'Return home, dry yourself, just wait
Wait for me...don't be concerned'

Concerned that night is drawing in
In fear my love will not come by
By ten o'clock, I realise
Realise and start to cry

'Cry it out', my mother moans
Moans about kids of today
Today I thought I'd found my love
Love, sadly had no part to play
