From Youth to Age

by dovemarie

From childhood to youth,
From youth to age
I learned the truth
Turning each and every page

I ran through my youth
Don't remember when I lost my first tooth
Now aches and pains chill my bones
Especially when I look at gravestones

Soon I will be beneath
The ground; to whom will I my treasures bequeath?
The sadness of growing old...
Little time left to hold

My life is like a storybook
From smoothness to wrinkles, that's how I will look
Born in mid twentieth century,
The wisdom of age will be my treasury
