Love affair
When all of life's obstacles wear you down,
when you become tired of the struggle each day.
With your worry lined face, no smile to be found,
remember I'll always be there to say...
about how I love you, how much you are worth,
that a kinder, gentler soul can't be found on this earth.
How the touch of your hand, soothes me when I cry.
A touch that I'll crave till the day that I die.
How sweetly your voice sounds when you are singing,
such glorious words about the earth and sky.
Deep within my heart, the notes are still ringing,
making it seem like my spirit can fly.
When your body is aching at the end of the day,
when sleep doesn't come in the long, restless night.
When bad memories surface, sad thoughts come your way,
my body will cover you till passion takes flight.
Then hours go by but we're unaware,
a clock has no place in this world we created.
Time cannot measure the feelings we share.
Who cares? Till we're filled up, our lustfullness sated.
Yet far beyond our flesh and our blood,
beyond the quiet hours we pass together.
Past carnal desires that can come in a flood,
our souls meld as one, as they have done forever.
When all of life's obstacles wear me down.
when I become tired of the struggle each day,
with my worry lined face, no smile to be found,
I'll remember that you'll always be here to stay.
