Walking in Your Shoes

Your Sandals

by Sugarray77

You fed a large crowd, preached sermons out loud,
taught lessons to those on the shore.
You heard from above, touched others with love,
and walked in the sandals you wore.

You speak to my heart, you’ll never depart,
you lead me to want something more.
To give of myself, not sit on a shelf,
and walk in the sandals you wore.

I’ll press on ahead, with no fear or dread,
and carry the cross that you bore.
I lay down my pride, I’ll stay by your side,
to walk in the sandals you wore.
