a 75 word story
Georgia
by judester
The setting sun cast the cornfield in a soft, golden light.
As Georgia walked between the rows, she would occasionally glance downward with hope in her heart. Looking for gold.
Last spring while planting the corn, her Grandmother's ring had slipped off her finger into the dark soil.
She whistled for the dogs and headed back to the farmhouse.
One corn stalk suddenly caught her eye.
Blending with the gold tassel, was her beloved ring.
