Summertime is diet time,
I know that this sounds wrong,
but I ate my way through the holidays,
and waited way too long.

Now summertime is finally here,
the beach beckons to me.
But can't wear my old bathing suit,
it shrunk to some degree.

So now I'm working hard to lose,
it isn't going great.
I try to eat quite sensibly,
put salad on my plate.

But then temptation factors in
and soon my only wish,
is ice cream, chocolate syrup
and bananas in a dish.

Though family does encourage me,
they eat all day and night.
Tasty treats that tempt me,
many sugar filled delights.

I love the summer festivals,
the weather's never better.
But sadly these two summer things
and food go great together.

On a picnic recently,
my cottage cheese looked great.
But all I really wanted,
was a hot dog on my plate...

With mounds of potato salad
and some sugar cookies too.
A picnic isn't quite complete,
if s'more makings aren't with you.

Temptation is my nemesis,
it soon will take me down.
I don't think that I'll last,
with all this summer food around.

Temptation finally got to me,
I'm done with all the lies.
I still will wear my bathing suit,
just in a bigger size.
