The sights and sounds of morning's rise...

Break of Day

by Y. M. Roger

Morning’s magic makes the day manifest

coaxes coy crocus

as cuckoo

calls

Its sunshine speeds shadows to seek shelter

‘midst the murky moors

masked in mild

mauves

While chorus of crickets communicates

sweet cessation of

sunlight’s sound

sleep
