Let's watch the silver moon who spills her light
Across the silken surface of the lake,
The shoreline's silhouette--stark black on white--

And listen to the stillness at the break
Of day as if all creatures have to hush
Till sleeping Gaia stirs herself awake.

Then smell the cheery fragrance from each bush,
Sweet lilacs' scent and heady lavender,
Both overgrown, gone rampant, thick and lush.

A zephyr teases like a courtier,
Seducing with caresses, pleasing pets,
Its feathered touch an ardent signature.

Tonight as Luna makes her passage let's
Allow each sense to revel sans regrets.
