Lyrical Poem Contest Entry
A Fated Composition
Verse 1
The prelude played so tenderly,
the tempo of their hearts as one.
As love composed each precious note
to orchestrate what they'd begun.
Chorus
The empty room so silent now,
her heart can't find the notes to play.
The essence of her music fades
because he left her yesterday.
Verse 2
The overture was beautiful
and melody in perfect tune.
The radiance the ivory held
so sadly lost its shine too soon.

Each moment echoed sweet desire.
Each kiss sustained in harmony.
Each chord laments in sharp resound
a love that wasn't meant to be.

Her dear piano rarely sings
in vibrant songs she can't restore.
Alone she longs to play again
the music that she felt before.
