An unknown soldier's love for America

Born and Raised

by poetwatch

I was born and raised as an American.
I saw the river run Red with its blood,
With the White of its eyes seeing no man.
Blue was the sky when we died in the mud.
We were the Stars and shined the same
As we faced the coming of death.
We smiled and yelled, proudly insane,
Freedom! and fought to our last breath.
Now, here I lie resting in my tomb
And hear the call to battle once more.
My spirit flows into mother's womb
And soon, I'll be ready for war.
America is the land that I love.
