Waiting on true love...

The Singing Cloak

by Diana L Crawford

My heart holds a precious lullaby
that I long to share on twilight eves
and dawn-soft morns.

My heart weaves a colorful fabric
from the threads of loves and losses
for one who will wear it tenderly.

My heart creates the singing cloak,
waiting for the one who will test
the fabric’s strength and find it good.

I wonder whose heart will cherish
this singing cloak, resting in its
warmth on some frost-bitter night.

I wonder who will feel the meaning
of the brilliant colors chosen
and the rhythm of its melody.
